What's your cancellation policy for classes?
If you aren't able to attend a course that you've enrolled in, please reach out to us as soon as you know, at the very least 72 hours before the start of the first session of the course, and we can issue you a course credit in the amount of the tuition paid to take a different session. In the event of cancellation within 72 hours of the start of the first session or a no-show, the course fee is forfeit, and we can only issue a course credit at our discretion.
If a course is cancelled or dates are changed by us, you will be entitled to a course credit to enroll in a different section, or a full refund—your choice.
Can I rent your space for my event?
Though we've got a packed schedule of classes and recurring events like our weekly Figure Drawing and monthly Bring Your Own Film series, we do occasionally rent our space for events. Past events have included musical performance, film shoots and screenings, exhibitions, fundraisers and more. In addition to making sure your requested date is available, since we're here to support art and art-making in Crown Heights and Brooklyn, we do tend to say yes to events that are "on mission" for us. Can I arrange a private class for my team at work? Do you do private workshops?
Totally! We've done private workshops in the past for school groups, teams, companies, and groups of friends—check out the information on Private Workshops at Shoestring here.
Can I rent printmaking space by the day?
Shoestring Press has daily rates available for workshop alumni, former members, and, at the MP's discretion, those with a short-term project and extensive printmaking experience. $70 per day includes some supplies, use of all equipment, and some technical orientation as needed. Do you custom design and print wedding invitations?
We do! Drop by our space or send an email to see some samples of the invitations we've created in the past. We do custom design jobs and printing, or just printing if you already have a design. Our invitations can incorporate multiple print techniques, both analog (silkscreen! woodblock!) and digital.
Pricing varies greatly by factors such as the amount of design work and print processes involved; number of components; paper stock; folding and cutting and more. To give you an accurate quote, we'll need to have an in-person conversation with you.
