Lane is the founder, owner and master printer of Shoestring Press. He is a graduate of Columbia University, where he studied Classics and Visual Art. He has instructed at Columbia and New Jersey City University, and for the past five years has run Shoestring Press in Brooklyn, working with artists and members as well as instructing classes in a variety of print mediums. In 2013 and 2014, his silkscreen work won grants from Brooklyn Arts Council.
Caro is the shop manager at Shoestring Press, where they teach etching, introductory printmaking and collograph courses. A native of Brooklyn, Caro is a graduate of Smith College, where they earned a degree in Studio Art and a certificate in Museum Studies. They have studied printmaking and graphic design at the School of Visual Arts in New York, art history at Jagellonian University in Kraków, German with the Institut für Internationale Kommunikation in Berlin, and completed a printmaking residency at the Taller Experimental de Gràphica in Havana.
Sylvia is the Lithography Technician at Shoestring Press, where she specializes in stone lithography, creates artist editions working alongside the master printer, and assists shop members with their projects. She is an instructor for introductory printmaking courses such as Screen Print Now! and for beginner to advanced lithography tutorials.
Lauraly is the Screenprint Technician at Shoestring Press, where she creates artist editions working alongside the master printer and specializes in printing on paper and textiles. She is an instructor for introductory to advanced silkscreen printing classes.
